Medical Center Health System started the Odessa, Texas Farmers Market in June 2014 with a goal to promote health and wellness to Permian Basin residents. It is the region’s only health system-run farmers market and the only Texas Department of Agriculture Certified Farmers Market in the Permian Basin.
The Odessa, Texas Farmers Market is held on the second Saturday fo each month June through September, on the corner of Golder and Second Street, in front of Medical Center Hospital.
Over the last two years, the Farmers Market has grown to over 50 vendors, offering a variety of locally-grown produce, range-fed beef, fresh eggs, jellies, breads, dog treats and more.
Monthly activities include free health screenings, cooking demonstrations, kids’ activities and live music.
As a supporter of the local agriculture and business industry, Medical Center Health System has been a member of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s GO TEXAN program since the inception of the Odessa, Texas Farmers Market in 2014.
